On 17th and 18th June Les Ballets C de la B will perform Alain Platel's 'Out of Context' at Sadler's Wells

From 23th April until 20th June the Whitechapel Gallery organises ‘Pacing through Architecture’, an exhibition dedicated to work by Flemish architects Robbrecht&Daem, responsible for the major remodelling of the gallery in 2009.

On the occasion of the London Festival of Architecture, Flanders House in London and the Flemish Architecture Institute are organising a series of lectures by Flemish architects. They will present projects that explore The Welcoming City in a wilful and relevant way, as the theme questions architecture’s capacity to transform a city into a pleasant, healthy and contemporary environment.

From 22th May – 10th July, coinciding with the Edinburgh International Film Festival, Fruitmarket Gallery will exhibit work from Flemish artist, director, curator and teacher Johan Grimonprez.

From the 30th of June to the 25th of July some promising Flemish artists will be showcasing their work at the Kaleid Editions Centre (23-25 Redchurch Street) in Shoreditch.

From 15th June - 05th September Tate Modern presents a major retrospective of works by Antwerp born experimental artist Francis Alÿs.

On 23th of September Laurens de Vos will present  'Sarah Kane in context'. The book het co-edited with Graham Saunders.

Bound, a brand new work by Gregory Maqoma and Antwerp born choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui will premiere at Sadler’s Wells from 6th-9th October 2010.

A leading light in contemporary dance, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker returns to Sadler’s Wells with her company Rosas to present the UK premiere of The Song. 19-21 October 2010

From the 1st of July up until 31 December you can expect to see Belgium as the head of the European council. The European council is one of the most important divisions of the EU. Each member state has a representative in the council. Every six months a new chairman is chosen who then decides on the agenda of the EU.

Fom 23rd January 2010 until July 2011 works by Flemish artist Fred Eerdekens will be on display at the Eastwingnine Exhibition at the Courtauld Institute of Art.

In spring 2011, Chris Dercon will be taking over from current director Vicente Todoli who has been head of the museum for seven years. This new leadership is an exciting occurrence for the Flemish community and specifically the Art community, with a fellow countryman as the head of one of Britain’s leading modern art galleries.
 

From 10th July - 30th August Flemish Sculptor Frederic Geurts presents 'A Fine Line'

A Fine Line is Geurts’ first solo exhibition in the UK and has been commissioned by Fabrica in the context of its European project Landscape, Cities, People; a three-year collaboration with galleries in England, France and Belgium, part-funded by the European Union under the Interreg IVa Two Seas programme.

This summer, Antwerp Fashion Academy trained designer Martin Margiela will be celebrating twenty years of contemporary fashion as one of the most influential and enigmatic figures of the decade. His major showcase, ‘Maison Martin Margiela ‘20’The Exhibition’ will be a true insight into the life and works of this iconic, yet incredibly discreet artist. Open for viewing daily between 10am -6pm until 5th September.
 

These Five Flemish jugglers bring their surprising street theatre show in a cocktail bar to London’s Southbank from 3-5 September 2010

These three circus artists from Bruges bring a spectacular street show that catches the attention with a “never seen before” combination of juggling stunts, maxitrampoline-acrobatics, street theatre and slapsticks.
They will perform outside London’s National Theatre from 13-15 September 2010
