At the occasion of the International Street & Location Festival Feta, that will take place in Gdansk from July 15th till July 18th, Flanders will be represented on July 15th by Theatre Tol with the performance „Tarts”.
 

At the occasion of the International Organ Music Festival in Oliwa, organized since over 50 years, the Flemish organ player Johan Hermans will perform on July 30th.

At the occasion of the 18th International Street Art Festival, which will take place in Warsaw between July 2nd and 6th the Flemish ensemble Cir’ulqtion Locale will perform on July 3rd. The interactive show „Happy 4 Nothing” will offer a pleasant distraction for the whole family.
 

On July 1st the 10th edition of the Music Gardens Festival will start in the Warsaw Royal Castle. This year the Gardens are dedicated to both the Belgian EU Presidency and Frideric Chopin. The program will also focus on culture from Flanders.

The Poznan Malta Festival, which started on June 25th, will close on July 1st & 2nd with a Theatre Forum. Experts from many countries will exchange ideas about different aspects of theatre. The interaction between Polish & Flemish theatre will also be discussed.

In the framework of the 45th International Festival Wratislavia Cantans the Ghent Collegium Vocale, will perform the Missa in h-moll of Johann Sebastian Bach on September 4th under the skilful guidance of its director Philippe Herreweghe.

The movie “Harpy”, directed by Raoul Servais, will be presented on the 3rd of June at 3 pm in Kinoteatr Redoubt (Center ARS cinema), Świętego Jana street in Cracow.

The International Organ Music Festival in the Cathedral in Oliwa is one of the oldest organ music festivals in Poland and one of the best known festivals of organ music in the whole world, organized since over 50 years. It is already well known as one of the biggest occurrences in the calendar of international cultural events which take place during the summer season in Northern Europe.

After a very succesful participation in the exhibition Between Constructivism and Figuration in 2008 in Cracow, photographer Jan Keteleer will present a new project composed of about 30 pictures, in the Royal Castle Museum in Warsaw.

The Center for Contemporary Art in Toruń is organizing from the 22nd of January till the 2nd of May the exhibition, The Past is a Foreign Country, arranged by the Dutch artist Jeroen de Vries.

The 34th edition of the very prestigious fiveyearly flower & plant show will be organised in Ghent from April 17th till 25th. The very succesful flower carpet, which was laid out in front of the Belgian Embassy building on Senatorska in August 2008 inspired Poland to accept the invitation to participate in the Floralies 2010 as Country in the Focus.

Since September 2009 Flemish films are screened in the Flemish Representation on a monthly basis. The Flemish spoken films are systematically subtitled in English.

This year, Poznań’s Malta Festival is celebrating its 20th anniversary! The event, which started as a street-theatre festival, or - according to some - as carnivalesque event celebrating the recently regained freedom of being together in public spaces has today become one of the major artistic festivals in the Central Europe.

In September 2009 the Representation of Flanders in Warsaw started with a new initiative. Since then 4 successful sessions of Flemish movies took place in the Representation on a monthly basis with a.o: The Alzheimer Case (De zaak Alzheimer), The only one (Vidange perdue) and Any way the wind blows. 

The exhibition ‘The continuous living of a memory. Ingrid Ledent – prints’ will be held at International Cultural Centre in Cracow from September 17th till November 15th 2009.

The Flemish ensemble Collegium Vocale from Ghent will once again be visiting Poland. It is most famous for its beautiful performances of Baroque music.

This year also Flanders participates in the project ‘Poems on the underground’ organized by a.o. Fundacja Cultus and Stowarzyszenie Pociąg do Sztuki.This year’s theme is the city and migration.

On September 17th, 2009 the Representation of Flanders in Warsaw starts with a new initiative. Flemish movies will be screened in the Representation on a monthly basis.

In the framework of 17th International Summer Academy of Early Music and at the occasion of Flanders’ Day a concert was organized in the Wilanow Palace Museum on July 9th.

The 6th European Day of Languages will take place on the Cracow Mały Rynek on September 25th from 10 till 16.00. With the support of the Dutch Language Department of the University in Wroclaw and together with the Netherlands Embassy, the Flemish Representation will be representing the Dutch language.

Guy Cassiers, one of the most versatile theatre makers in Flanders, was awarded the European Price New Theatrical Realities on April 5th, at the occasion of the Grotowski festival in Wroclaw.

This year again the Netherlands-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Belgian Business Chamber in co-operation with the Netherlands Embassy, the Flemish Representation and Flanders Investment and Trade organize a Job Market for Dutch speakers. This event will take place on the 27th of April 2009 in Hilton Hotel in Warsaw, Grzybowska 63 street from 13.00 till 17.00.

From the 20th  till the 26th of April 2009 will take place in Cracow the 34th Theatre Festival Krakowskie Reminiscencje Teatralne (KRT). This year the world famous theater ensembles from Flanders Victoria (Ghent) and Needcompany & MaisonDahlBonnema (Brussels) will participate.

King of Kong – Artur Koryciński organizes with the support of the Flemish Representation on Saturday 21st March the very first appearance of Aeroplane in Poland.

On 29th, 30th & 31st August an exquisite flower carpet of 400m² was on display in front of the Belgian Embassy in Warsaw (Senatorska 34). The colour pattern of the 120.000 begonias was arranged according to a design by Belgian landscape architect Marc Shautteet.
